Kenai Peninsula

Today we took the car out to explore the Kenai Peninsula. We drove the Sterling Highway from Homer to the city of Kenai. The drive was very scenic with lots of wildlife along the way.

Louie’s Steak & Seafood is a family-owned restaurant in Kenai, Alaska, known for its extensive menu of steak and Alaskan seafood. It is highly regarded for its generous portions, casual dining experience, and unique Alaskan-themed decor featuring a collection of local trophy animals. We stopped in for a nice dinner before driving back to Homer.

The Seafarer’s Memorial is located near the end of the road on the spit. It is a solemn and touching tribute to the men and women who have lost their lives at sea in the dangerous commercial fishing industry.
