Isla Pájaros,Yalahau Cenote & Isla Pasión

Started the day walking through town to get to the marina where we will be taking a boat tour of Holbox. As usual, I came across more street art.

We also came across the Alma Rooftop bar. It has a pool on the roof that is free to use. We stopped for a drink and a dip!

The tour we are taking, will be a three hour island tour. On this tour, we will take a boat to Isla Pájaros (Bird Island). This island is a protected bird sanctuary where we were able to observe the wildlife from designated platforms and towers. Here, we saw herons, frigates and egrets.

Next the tour took us to Yalahau Cenote. This is a freshwater spring located on the mainland side of the lagoon. We were able to take a quick swim, then relax under the palapas with a light snack before we returned to the boat.

After leaving the island, we came across a flock of flamingos.

The final stop on the tour took us to Isla Pasión (Passion Island). This is a small quiet island with shallow pristine beaches, perfect for walking around and wading through the waters while looking for birds.

After the boat tour, we returned to our hotel for a nap to get ready to head out for the night. Carnival is still going on and the streets come alive at night.
