While visiting our Italian exchange student (Antonio) he took us on a tour of his home town, an old walled hilltop city called Jesi. I told him of my quest to taste a Guinness in every country. He took me to Je’rish, the only Irish pub in Jesi.

How did it Compare?
1. Appearance: (0-5)
· Color: (Ruby-black, murky, gray) Ruby-black,
· Head: (height, density, creaminess) 1.5 inch, thick-1/4 inch peak, creamy
· Cascade: (Strong tight bubbles/ Weak/ None) weak cascade was gone shortly after getting to the table.,
· Lacing: (Good Rings / Minimal / None) Good Rings as I drank it.
Score: 4 (looks fine, cascade not present)
2. Aroma (0-5)
· Notes Detected: (Roasted barley, coffee, cocoa and a little breadiness) Roasted Barley and coffee
· Off-Aromas: (Sour/acidic, vinegar, buttered popcorn, wet cardboard (oxidation) or cleaning chemical smell) None
Score: 3 (mild but pleasant; a bit muted)
3. Flavor (0-5)
· Balance (Gentle roast, light coffee/chocolate, slight bitterness, very little sweet.)
· Bitterness (firm but not harsh: should finish dry, not sugary)
· Off Flavors (Metallic, sour, buttery or “Stale” notes)
Score: 5 (Good balance)
4. Mouthfeel (0-5)
· Body: (Light-medium but creamy texture)
· Carbonation (soft fine bubbles (nitro feel) not prickly or flat.)
· Impression (Silky vs watery vs heavy)
Score: 3 (not as creamy as I would like, carbonation did not last.)
