2 Days At Sea

For the next two days, we will be cruising at sea before we get to Uruguay.

February 8th, 2026

The weather is much warmer today (55 degrees). The Antarctic seems so far away now. Since we were at sea for the day, I scheduled a massage, then took a relaxing soak in the hot tubs. We spotted a few whales while we were soaking.

There is another medical emergency on the ship. We will be diverting our course to drop off the passenger at a port as we follow the coast of Argentina. Even with this, we are still on schedule to arrive at Montevideo Uruguay on time.

The Olympics have started , but the ship does not have the license to broadcast it. We have the Peacock App, but it will not run on the Princess Network. We decided to install a VPN and once we set it up to have us based in USA, our apps were working fine.

“Game Food” snacks from the Buffett

This worked great. We are able to watch the Olympics! It is also Super Bowl Sunday, the ship is broadcasting the game, but not the commercials. We started watching the game in the Explorers Lounge, but moved to our room.We enjoy watching the commercials just as much as the game. I was able to scrounge some “game food” at the buffet. They had wings, shrimp, nachos and guacamole. I also tried the “Dr Pepper” beer. To make it, add two shots of Amerretto to a lager, and you get a drink that tastes like Dr Pepper. It actually works!

February 9th, 2026

The game ended around 12:30 for our time zone last night, so we slept in. This is our second day at sea and the temperature continues to rise. It was 65 degrees when I got up around 7:30.

I also tried my hand at “Speedy Sudoku”. They ship has this every morning in the wine bar. I did ok, some of these older folks have great cognitive skills!
