Preparing the Bijoux

It has been a while since we have been camping. I had just given my Jayco pop-up camper to my nephew (he just had his second kid with more on the way). I left it with most of our provisions. A few sentimental items were removed to put in our new camper. Now we needed to figure out the provisioning for our new camper.

Our old camper did not have any plumbing (no toilet, shower, sink, etc…) This new camper had a whole new set of requirements. We needed to be prepared for campsites with water/electical hookups and those without.

For “luxury camping” (water/electrical hookups) we found we needed drinking grade hoses, water pressure regulators, water filters, surge protectors, adapters for different types of electrical connections as well as converters in case only 50 amp service was available (our camper uses 30 amp service)

For Boondocking (no hookups) we will need batteries and fill our water tank.

For both, we will need connectors and tubing to empty the gray water tanks and black water tanks.

We started looking at RV World. They had everything we needed. However, after a quick look on my amazon app on my phone, we found the pricing to be quite high. We waited for an Amazon Days event and ordered most of our provisions on line. It saved us hundreds of dollars.

Time to shop for camper supplies.

For the rest of the camper, we used a packing list I found on line called crazymamascamping list. There are many out here to choose from. I did find it helpful to have a list to work with. My goal is to have a digital list  that I can check off each time we go out.
