3 Days At Sea
January 27th, 28th and 29th 2026
We will be at Sea the next three days on our way to Punta Areanas.
There are plenty of activities to keep us busy while we are underway. I took advantage of the Tai Chi classes offered every morning on the ship.
There were also plenty of Enrichment Talks to help prepare us for what we are about to see. We attended the following Enrichment Talks:
South Of the Icebergs - presented by a naturalist
An Introduction to Antarctica - A Naturalist presentation on the flora and fauna
The Humpback Whales and Orca of the South - A Naturalist presentation focusing on Humpback Whales and Orcas.
A Story of Tierra del Fuego 1830-1860 - A presentation on the story of Jemmy Buttons, a local native brought back to England to be “Civilized” and his return to Tierra del Fuego .
Giants of the Deep - A Naturalist presentation on the Whales in the area.
Elephant Island - A Story of Endurance - A retelling of the story of The Endurance exploration ship’s failed attempt get to Antarctica
Penguins of the Antarctic - A Naturalist presentation on penguins in the area.
These are just a few of the presentations we attended. There were many more offered. It was a bit like being in school, but the presentations were very well done.
And we learned A LOT about penguins! I hope we get to see all of them.
It is Formal day on the ship. Everyone dresses up and the take photos all over the ship. Glad I brought my sport coat!
Enjoying some wine in Vines (the wine bar on the ship)
I also found time for a morning coffee in the hot tubs!
I also tried my best to maintain a workout regiment while on board. In addition to Tai Chi every morning, I went to the gym to work out. The gym is on an upper level in the front of the ship. All the treadmills, cross-trainers and bikes, face out the windows, so you can see what is in front of the ship. There was a space for spin classes and other gym classes as well as a full set of weights and weight machines.
We also tried to walk everyday. Three loops around deck 7/8 equaled one mile. It was a nice way to exercise and be outside.
We also checked out other ship actives like Line Dancing and the Silent Disco. Everybody gets their own head set and dances to their own music. It was fun!
Amy and myself at Silent Disco.
Our room steward would clean our room and leave us fun towel animals.
Every night there were shows in the Princess Theater. We saw It was a great way to end the day. Some of the shows include; Bravo - a song and dance show by the Princess performers, A Night to Remeber by Carlos, and Do You Want to Dance.
