Princess Sapphire Ship
January 25th, 2026
Today is a travel day. We will be leaving Iguazu and flying back to Buenos Aires. Arlete, our guide, picked us up and took us to the airport.
Sandy, Amy, Arlete and myself at the airport.
Getting ready to board the flight.
The two hour flight went quickly but it did not seem as though the AC was not working on the plane. Once we landed and got our baggage. Pablo, the driver we used when we arrived in Argentina, picked us up again from the airport. He took us to our first hotel to pick up the baggage we stored there, then drive us to the port to board our ship.
This Princess boarding was much easier than the ones we have encountered before. There were no lines and we walked through registration and security very easily. They also had a shuttle bus to take us directly to the ship. In the past we have had to walk long distances to reach the ship after registration.

We are on the Princess Sapphire ship. This will take us on a round trip journey from Buenos Aires to Antarctica and back. We will be stopping in Punta Arenas-Chile, Ushuaia- Argentina, Port Stanley (Falkland Islands) and Montevideo- Uruguay. We will also be passing though the Drake Passage. Should be interesting.
Since we have been on the road for awhile, we decided to make this a down day and relax on the ship. Once we got settled into our rooms (this will be our home for the next 17 nights), we explored the ship. This ship has a covered section of the upper deck with a pool in it. This is to accommodate the cooler climates this ship goes to. It is 92 degrees here today, so we opted to take a dip in the outdoor pools on the ship. However, the water was not cool. It was warm like bath water. I’m sure we will appreciate it more when we are cruising in cooler climates.
It was not long before the daylight was leaving. After dinner, we checked out the show the on the ship. Tonight there is an illusionist called Juan Alvarez. He gave us an entertaining show with some fun magic. My expectations for these shows on the ship are always low, so I am never disappointed.
A long day of traveling! Made it to bed by 11:00. The ship will be staying in port overnight. This is the first time I have had this happen on a cruise. But that is the schedule.
